E’ bastata una solo chune, “Hold You” a fare esplodere in tutto il mondo la Gyptian mania. Una sola canzone, diventata una super hit, tanto da sfondare i classici mercati reggae ed approdare nelle classifiche di tutto il mondo. Ed ora arriva l’album che non poteva che chiamarsi così.
Gyptian ha addirittura usurpato i deejays Vybz Kartel, Shaggy e Sean Paul per diventare l'artista dancehall più popolari in America del Nord e terzo a livello mondiale sulla base di ricerche online, tra le pre-release del suo album uscito da qualche settimana. Ma non è tutto, come di consueto dopo il disco, parte il tour e mai si sarebbe immaginato che si sarebbe esibito con due figure leggendarie.

Non accadeva dal  2003 che un artista reggae arrivasse ad un successo mondiale così..
Secondo il motore di ricerca di Google analizzando il traffico, negli ultimi 30 giorni, ogni 100 ricerche per Gyptian corrispondono a  67 per Shaggy e cinque per Sean Paul, zero per Kartel negli Stati Uniti. Tuttavia a livello mondiale la popolarità online di Sean Paul e Shaggy sono indiscutibili.
Stiamo assistendo alla consacrazione di un artista reggae in tutto il mondo. Un giovane che fin’ora era conosciuto da una massive ristretta, improvvisamente si sono aperte  le porte degli USA ma soprattutto andrà in tour con Nas e Jr. Gong.

Cristy Barber, vice-presidente del marketing e promozionali della VP Records, ieri ha detto al giornale “The Star” che il cantante avrebbe a breve iniziato il tour con Nas e Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley.  La notizia è arrivata, mentre  era sul set del suo nuovo video “ Nah Let You Go”, l’artista a replicato ad un giornalista :  "Beh sai che è grandioso quel che sta accadendo. Rendendo grazie a Jah per la vita. Sono molto contento del tour che si avvicina”,  aggiungendo che ora è il momento di promuovere  l'album.

Ora è già uscito il nuovo lavoro composto da 15 tracce che contiene altre hit come “Beautiful Lady”, Nah Let Go e che si preannuncia l’album dell’anno. Chissà se verrà nominato al Grammy Haward
